Provided in Jefferson and at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the Excel program assists persons to develop appropriate personal-social, daily living and pre-vocational skills, as appropriate that are necessary for the participants to become independent, responsible, valued and contributing members of the community. They provide a person-centered approach to create meaningful and enjoyable activities. The Excel Program serves people with a broad range of intellectual and other disabilities.
Program participants are engaged in various activities in the areas of:
- Health and Wellness
- Recreation/ Leisure
- Community Access
- Functional Academics
All of these activities are experienced in a variety of settings. Emphasis is placed upon providing program participants with the tools they need to be independent, productive and happy adults.
