New 4-Bed Adult Family Home Opens in Jefferson

The excitement builds for three women making the transition to St. Coletta’s newest accessible adult family home that wrapped up construction at the end of December 2012. The new 4-bed adult family home is located in Jefferson off of Hwy 18 and Hwy Y. Yesterday, leadership received word that the new home has passed inspection and been officially licensed through the state of Wisconsin.

In keeping with the long standing tradition and mission of the organization, the home has been given the name, St. Elizabeth, and will be blessed in the upcoming weeks by Steve Steele, Director of Mission Effectiveness.  When asked about choosing the name, Steele explained, “We carried over the St. Elizabeth name from a wing at the former intensive care unit, Alverno (current home to St. Coletta’s headquarters), which we felt was a great way to celebrate the people that served there and honor our rich Franciscan heritage. St. Elizabeth of Hungary was the patron saint of nursing services and here at St. Coletta, we pride ourselves on the quality of care we give to each individual we serve.”
